Grace was born with a variant of uncertain significance (VUS) in her SLC9A6 gene, linked to Christianson syndrome—a condition that primarily affects boys. Because of moderate to severe X-inactivation, Grace experiences the challenges of this condition in a way that is rare for girls. As she grows, the gap between her and her peers continues to widen, making friendships harder to form and maintain, and sometimes exposing her to the cruelty of others.
But Grace is strong, and we believe in turning challenges into opportunities. This website is our family initiative—a place where we guide Grace in discovering her strengths, building leadership skills, and understanding her self-worth. Through empathy, service, and perseverance, we hope she will learn to navigate life’s obstacles with courage and joy.
Our goal is bigger than Grace alone. By sharing her journey, we aim to inspire others facing their own challenges, showing that with love, support, and determination, obstacles can be transformed into growth. Along the way, we hope to help Grace build a foundation for her future, create meaningful memories, and leave a lasting impact on the world around her.
This is more than a story—it’s a journey of hope, resilience, and possibility.
